Senior M&E Project Manager

Location: Helensburgh & Glasgow City Centre (Hybrid, minimum 4 days on site / office)

Lead Critical Defence Infrastructure Projects

VolkerStevin Infrastructure Limited (VSIL) is the delivery partner to the Ministry of Defence (MoD), providing infrastructure definition, design and delivery services across a major programme of works running through to 2037.

We are seeking an experienced Senior M&E Project Manager to lead the delivery of a live £40m Mechanical & Electrical Refurbishment Contract within one of the UK's most strategically important and highly regulated environments.

This is an outstanding opportunity for a proven project leader to take ownership of complex infrastructure projects, working alongside key stakeholders, consultant partners and supply chain organisations to deliver critical defence assets safely, efficiently and compliantly.

The Role

As Senior M&E Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading project delivery from design through to handover, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Leading the delivery of a £40m M&E refurbishment contract.
  • Managing NEC4 contract obligations through CEMAR (Thinkproject CONTRACTS).
  • Administering Early Warning Notices, Compensation Events, Programmes and Technical Queries.
  • Coordinating client, consultant, contractor and supply chain teams.
  • Managing project cost forecasts with commercial teams.
  • Maintaining project programmes with planning teams.
  • Producing monthly progress reports, project management reports and health checks
  • Ensuring compliance with HSEQ requirements and project governance processes.
  • Driving continuous improvement in project delivery and Health & Safety performance.
  • Chairing client and stakeholder meetings.
  • Managing project handover, close-out and information deliverables.

About You

You will have a strong track record in infrastructure project delivery within a regulated environment such as Defence, Nuclear, Energy or Rail.

You Should Demonstrate

  • Significant experience leading M&E infrastructure projects.
  • Strong NEC4 contract management knowledge.
  • Experience managing multidisciplinary delivery and supply chain teams.
  • Experience delivering projects from design through construction and handover.
  • Excellent stakeholder and client management skills.
  • Strong reporting, commercial awareness and programme management capability.
  • A proactive approach to safety, quality and continuous improvement.

Desirable Experience

  • Ministry of Defence infrastructure experience.
  • Understanding of the Capital Infrastructure Contracting and Works Process (CICWP).
  • Familiarity with working in highly regulated operational environments.
  • Experience using CEMAR contract management systems.
