About the role: Assistant Bid Manager (Trainee) – responsible for bid writing and submission processes within the Work Winning Team at VolkerRail’s head office in Doncaster.
Responsibilities:
- Learn and develop bid writing skills to build a career in rail industry bid writing.
- Assist in the full bid quality submission process, including:
- Managing deliverable schedules
- Developing storyboards
- Developing written responses to tender questions and reviewing responses
- Assisting in timely completion of pre‑qualification questionnaires
- Managing the Bid Library and maintaining CVs
- Producing case studies of completed projects
- Build and maintain relationships with other departments and functions, including key subject matter experts.
Drug and alcohol screening is mandatory for all staff.
Qualifications:
- Graduate in English, Journalism or another relevant degree
- Excellent communication skills with demonstrable experience producing written responses
- Creative and proficient in IT, especially MS Office applications
- Interest in a career in bid writing within the rail industry, and keen to develop industry knowledge
- Previous experience in Railway, Commercial, Construction or a comparable industry is desirable but not essential
- Strong organisational and planning abilities
- Excellent attention to detail
- Capability to manage time, prioritise and juggle multiple priorities
- Team player
