Bid Manager

Part of the VolkerWessels UK Group, VolkerStevin is an industry-leading civil engineering business, providing complex and innovative engineering solutions across a wide range of sectors including maritime, flood risk management, defence, energy, water and regeneration.The Bid Manager will be responsible for tendering new civil engineering work within the UK focusing on Marine, Costal, Flood Defence and Water sectors. The successful candidate will be a part of a leadership team preparing tenders varying size from £2m to £100m overseeing the estimation, tender design, commercial, programme and quality submissions.Primary ResponsibilitiesManage and Co-ordinate Northwest based bid teamDevelop tender winning strategies: QualityPriceCommercial

Commission and manage tender designsEvaluate design options and determine winning solutionsManage tender programme and budgets resolving critical issuesDevelop working methods, evaluate alternatives and determine winning solutionsUnderstand and analyse competitorsAbility to develop multidisciplinary programmesManage multiple priorities and teamsPresent solutions to clients and senior managersPursue, builds and maintains strong relationships within the industryCompare and analyse competitive subcontractor and supplier bidsResearch technologies / project backgroundAbout YouRequirements: Degree in Civil Engineering or similarExcellent logical written and verbal communication skillsMin 5 years\’ experience (site management)Travel is requiredExcellent IT skills in Word, Excel, Power PointHome Office – Preston
