VolkerStevin is looking for a Finance Business Partner (1 year fixed term contract) to become a key player within our high‑performing Finance team in Preston. As a trusted partner to leaders across our VolkerStevin Specialist Business Unit (VSSB), you'll deliver first‑class financial insight, robust reporting, and meaningful analysis that helps steer performance and unlock opportunities. This is a role for someone who thrives on variety, collaboration, and making an impact.
About our role- Producing high‑quality monthly management accounts and insightful reports
- Spotting opportunities to improve processes, controls, and financial performance
- Delivering accurate reporting, presentations, and ad‑hoc analysis that drives decision‑making
- Taking part in monthly project reviews and supporting commercial teams
- Managing overhead budgets, forecasts, and cost reviews with key stakeholders
- Providing contract analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and tender support
- Leading and contributing to business‑wide projects
- Monitoring cashflow, working capital, labour utilisation, and inventory
- Supporting internal and external audits
- Building strong relationships across all levels of the business
You're a qualified accountant with a sharp analytical mind and the confidence to challenge, influence, and collaborate. You're comfortable working under pressure, producing accurate, time‑critical information, and using reporting tools to bring clarity to complex data. Most importantly, you communicate with ease - whether you're partnering with finance colleagues or guiding non‑finance stakeholders.
