The predicted salary is between 50000 - 65000 £ per year.

The SID is a fully integrated team that will bring together the strengths, capabilities, and knowledge of the partners and Network Rail. It will own the renewals work bank, manage it at portfolio level and drive a transition to a production management ethos. The SID is commercially aligned and jointly incentivised creating a ‘share in success’ environment. Business partners within the alliance will generate profit through performance against the Final Determination. The four partners, VolkerFitzpatrick, Octavius, Atkins, and VolkerRail are aligned to the core asset disciplines with the fifth partner, Network Rail Minor Works, being multi-disciplinary for low complexity, low value works.

We have a great opportunity for a Senior Project Engineer – Track (CEM) with track renewals experience to work on the track renewals work bank of the SID project.

Responsibilities
  • Committed to the management of health, safety and the welfare of all personnel with respect to the project delivery.
  • The candidate will be competent in managing the review and approval of health and safety documents (RA/WPP/TBS) in accordance with UK legislation, industry and company standards.
  • Preparation of quality reporting documents and other KPIs suitable for issue to Clients.
  • Actively contributing to forecasting mechanisms, as well as proactively managing delivery reporting and reforecasting where change occurs.
  • Engaged communicator willing to cooperate and coordinate with other delivery partners in a collaborative manner.
  • Providing weekly reports outlining work plans, forecasts and key achievements.
  • Proactive attitude towards recognising and addressing project issues, risks and opportunities.
  • Support both pricing and evaluating of subcontract construction works packages.
  • This includes assessing technical workscopes, responsibilities of parties to contracts and evaluating integration of subcontractor delivery timescales into the wider project programme.
  • Maintaining full understanding of commercial aspects of the project and ensuring appropriate cost control measures.
  • As CEM for individual renewals as per the requirements of NR/L2/RSE/02009.
About you
  • A degree or chartered membership of the Institute of Civil or Permanent Way Engineers.
  • An engineer experienced in the delivery of track renewals projects with prior experience of working in a construction environment.
  • Prior experience in the role of CEM.
  • Keen to develop career and role to cost, programme and people management with commitment to continuous improvement and learning.
  • An ability to work as an integral part of the construction team and undertake instructions from the multi-disciplinary Design Manager.
  • Articulate with excellent communication skills: able to explain reasoning to a wider audience and adjust approach where needed to take a wider perspective.
  • Safety critical position (PTS) – good, practical health and safety awareness.
  • Good attention to detail with a professional outlook.
  • Temporary works coordinator.
  • Full UK Drivers Licence.
