Full-Stack Software Engineer - Next.js / TypeScript / Node.js
Location: Central London
Working Pattern: Hybrid - minimum 3 days per week in the office
Experience: Approximately 3-10 years
The Role
You will work on the design, development and ongoing improvement of production systems used by real-world clients and users. We are particularly interested in engineers who can demonstrate not only strong technical skills, but a solid understanding of software engineering fundamentals, scalability and development best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build and maintain modern full-stack applications using Next.js, TypeScript, Node.js and React.
- Take ownership of features throughout the development lifecycle, from design through to production.
- Develop scalable, maintainable and well-structured software.
- Build and integrate APIs and backend services.
- Work across both frontend and backend components of the platform.
- Apply strong software engineering principles around testing, code quality, architecture and maintainability.
- Participate in technical discussions, code reviews and architectural decisions.
- Identify opportunities to improve application performance, reliability and developer experience.
- Work collaboratively with engineers and wider stakeholders to deliver high-quality products.
Candidates should have:
- Strong and recent commercial Next.js experience.
- Genuine full-stack engineering exposure rather than exclusively frontend development.
- Experience developing and maintaining production applications.
- Experience designing or integrating APIs and backend services.
- Understanding of modern application architecture and scalable system design.
- Strong knowledge of testing, version control, code reviews and modern development practices.
