We are currently seeking an experienced Repo Lawyer / Repo Negotiator to join a leading financial institution on a long-term contract basis. This role will be remote with the occasional visit to the London office required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Negotiate and manage:
  • Global Master Repurchase Agreements (GMRAs)
  • Sponsored repo documentation
  • Related securities financing and collateral agreements
  • Support repo and financing trading desks across:
    • Structured repo
    • Sponsored repo
    • Securities financing transactions
  • Provide practical legal and commercial guidance on repo-related documentation and transaction structures
  • Support collateral, margining, netting, and funding-related matters
  • Ensure agreements are negotiated and executed within required business timelines
  • Assist with regulatory and market infrastructure initiatives impacting repo and securities financing markets
  • Key Requirements

    • Proven experience negotiating:
    • GMRAs
    • Repo and securities financing documentation
    • Related collateral agreements
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Repo / reverse repo transactions
    • Securities financing markets
    • Collateral and margining mechanics
    • Regulatory frameworks impacting repo markets
  • Experience supporting trading desks and managing multiple negotiations in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience with sponsored repo structures is beneficial, although strong general repo experience is sufficient
  • Available to start on short notice preferred
