The purpose of the role is to act as a strong and empathetic Leader to the Finance team, and valued Business Partner to the SpecTec Management Team, offering insight and facilitating strong, evidence-based decision-making to enable the business to meet its growth and profitability objectives.
In the role of Head of Finance, you will:
- Business partner with the SpecTec Shipping Management team
- Oversee the reporting of financial performance against targets
- Provide Finance Business Partnering to the CEO and Management Team, subject matter expertise and strategic advice to drive improvements in this performance
- Coordinate the contract and commercial account reviews in order to drive growth and profitability improvements
- Ensure the alignment of the VBU's financial targets to the Group's financial targets
- Coordinate / oversee the Quarterly Business Review process
- Contribute to the development of the SpecTec Shipping Strategic Plan, modelling the impact of Strategy in the short, medium and long-term and facilitating course corrections where necessary
- Oversee the SpecTec Shipping Finance Team
- Provide support, direction, guidance and mentorship to direct reports and the wider Finance team within the SpecTec Shipping Finance Team
- Provide subject matter expertise to the Finance Team
- Maintain Financial control for the SpecTec Shipping business through ensuring statutory and tax compliance requirements are met for all legal entities within SpecTec Shipping
- Oversee Financial risk management, including Balance Sheet integrity for all entities and ensuring all material risks and opportunities are visible to the VBU and Group Leadership
- Oversee the external audit process for all entities, ensuring all accounts filed on-time with unqualified opinions
- Oversee / facilitate internal audit and drive improvements and compliance in-line with feedback received
- Drive Commercial awareness and facilitate strong decision-making through creating and maintaining robust Finance models for Sales opportunities, business forecasting and ad-hoc business cases as required
- Support and challenge stakeholders at all levels of the organisation
- Provide training to both Finance and non-Finance stakeholders
