Volantes Technical Recruitment is supporting a leading aviation organisation in the search for an experienced B2 Licensed Aircraft Engineer to join a Part-145 maintenance environment based in Bournemouth. This role offers the opportunity to work within a highly regulated, safety-critical operation, supporting both base maintenance and detached activities in the UK and overseas. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring continued airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and the effective delivery of contractual maintenance requirements. The Role
As a B2 Licensed Aircraft Engineer (LAE), you will support the Crew Chief and report to the Chief Engineer, holding responsibility for the safety, compliance, and operational performance of all applicable aircraft maintenance activities. You will contribute to engineering decision-making, supervise and mentor team members, and actively promote a culture of continuous improvement, professionalism, and safety-first thinking across the engineering function.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safety, quality, and full regulatory compliance across all aircraft maintenance activities
- Certify aircraft maintenance in accordance with Part-145 and applicable regulations
- Supervise aircraft ground movements where authorised
- Support aircraft operations at both base and detached locations (UK and overseas)
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all aircraft maintenance documentation
- Coordinate engineering tasks to meet operational targets and budgetary requirements
- Deputise for the Crew Chief when required
- Promote SHE (Safety, Health & Environment) and Security standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and uphold organisational values
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Unrestricted UK CAA Part-66 B2 Licence
- Strong knowledge of aircraft maintenance regulatory requirements and compliance
- Proven experience supervising and motivating engineering teams
- Medically fit to perform engineering duties, including shift work and detachments
- Eligible for UK Security Clearance and ITAR compliance
