Volantes Technical Recruitment is working with a leading aviation organisation to recruit an experienced B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer for a UK-based operation. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and safety-driven engineer to join a high-performing maintenance environment where people, professionalism, and operational excellence are at the heart of everything they do.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring continued airworthiness, regulatory compliance, and strong engineering performance across base and detached locations.
The B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer will be accountable to the Chief Engineer for safety, regulatory compliance, and operational performance at the base location and any associated detached sites. You will support the engineering team with sound technical decision-making, provide guidance on personal and team development, and ensure all maintenance activities are conducted in full accordance with regulatory requirements and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Take responsibility for the maintenance of aircraft and aircraft equipment as allocated by the Chief Engineer.
- Ensure all technical staff under supervision carry out duties safely, correctly, and in accordance with approved Maintenance Manuals and the company exposition.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of all aircraft maintenance documentation.
- Coordinate engineering activities to ensure tasks are completed on time and within budget.
- Review team performance and provide feedback to the Chief Engineer.
- Continually evaluate standards, practices, and procedures to drive efficiency and improvement.
- Support the Chief Engineer in day-to-day team operations and deputise when required.
- Assist with task prioritisation and scheduling requirements.
- Contribute to the ongoing development and capability of the engineering team.
- Achieve optimal base maintenance performance while maintaining excellent customer and stakeholder relationships.
- Previous experience within a base maintenance environment is essential.
- Additional experience in line maintenance and/or workshops is desirable.
- Unrestricted EASA Part-66 B1 (or B1/B2) Licence with relevant type ratings and company authorisations.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience operating at LAE level or in a comparable aircraft maintenance role.
- Extensive knowledge of regulatory requirements relating to aircraft maintenance.
- Strong understanding of base maintenance operations.
- Good change management and project management skills.
- Team-oriented with proven communication and influencing abilities.
- Customer-focused with excellent interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated, confident, and professional in approach.
- Ability to work within and uphold defined organisational values.
- Medically fit to perform daily engineering duties, including detached assignments.
