Volantes Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a leading aviation organisation in the search for experienced UKCAA B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineers to join their established maintenance team based at London Luton Airport. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly professional operation supporting a prestigious fleet within the corporate and business aviation sector. The successful candidates will become part of a skilled engineering team responsible for delivering both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance activities to the highest industry standards.
The Role
As a B1 Licensed Aircraft Engineer, you will be responsible for carrying out line and base maintenance activities under Part 145 regulations, certifying aircraft within your approval scope and ensuring all maintenance is completed safely, efficiently and in full compliance with regulatory requirements. Working within a fast‑paced corporate aviation environment, you will also play a key role in supporting flight crews and operational teams, providing a professional and customer‑focused approach whilst maintaining the highest levels of safety and service.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out line and base maintenance activities under Part 145 approval.
- Certify maintenance work within licence and company approval privileges.
- Ensure all maintenance documentation is completed accurately and in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Support aircraft recovery and AOG situations when required.
- Liaise effectively with flight crews, operations and engineering colleagues.
- Maintain the highest standards of safety, compliance and professionalism.
- Assist in the supervision and coordination of maintenance activities when required.
Requirements
- UK Part‑66 B1 Licence.
- Type ratings on Bombardier Challenger 300/350, Challenger 604/605 and/or Global series aircraft preferred.
- Previous experience within Corporate or Business Aviation.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure in a customer‑focused environment.
- Strong organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Ability to obtain and maintain an airport security pass, including a 5‑year checkable history.
Sponsorship may be considered for suitably qualified candidates, subject to licence and approval requirements.
Working Pattern
4 On / 4 Off shift rotation. Average 40‑hour working week. Standard shift hours: 07:00 – 19:00. Flexibility required to support operational requirements, including occasional travel and additional hours where necessary. Initial company induction and training may be conducted Monday to Friday.
