About the Operator

We are recruiting on behalf of a well‑established and highly regarded business aviation operator based at London Luton Airport. The Role

An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Aircraft Mechanic — or A Licensed Mechanic — to join the line and base maintenance team on a permanent, full‑time basis at Luton. Working under the direction of Licensed Engineers and Engineering Managers, you will be actively involved in the full range of maintenance activities, playing a key role in keeping a prestigious business aviation fleet airworthy and operational.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting line and base maintenance activities in accordance with Part 145, approved data, MOE and work instructions
  • Maintaining high standards of aircraft maintenance in a safe and timely manner
  • Acting as a first point of contact for customers and flight crew, managing enquiries professionally and liaising with internal departments as required
  • Flexible working to support operations — including occasional work away from base
  • Operating across a 7‑day, 365‑day operation in line with customer requirements

Hours of Work

The role operates on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern, with shifts running 07:00–19:00 (11.5 hours working, 30‑minute unpaid break). The average working week is 40 hours. Initial training will be conducted on a Monday‑Friday basis.

The Successful Candidate

  • Experience within a corporate / business aviation environment strongly preferred
  • A Licence holders particularly welcome (additional authorisation payment available)
  • Sheet metal experience beneficial but not essential — this is primarily a mechanical role
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office packages and standard computer systems
  • Organised, adaptable and flexible with strong interpersonal skills
  • Calm under pressure with the ability to prioritise in a fast‑moving environment
  • Excellent communication skills, professional appearance and a diplomatic manner
  • Full UK driving licence required
  • Right to live and work in the UK
  • 5‑year checkable history required for airport ID pass
