The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.
Reporting to the Business Operations Manager (Technical Operations and Production), the successful candidate will work as part of a team to support the editorial and resourcing ambitions of Iran International and Afghanistan International. They will collaborate with various departments, including Newsgathering, Newsroom, Sport, Current Affairs, Technical Operations and Production. The postholder will be a key contributor to ensuring resources are allocated effectively and efficiently and that business objectives are met.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring rotas for teams are accurate (recording shifts, leave, sickness) and planned in advance to fully resource a 24-hour service.
- Reporting sickness, leave and shifts to various departments including Human Resources and Finance.
- Be proactive in contributing towards the cost-effective scheduling of resources and managing overtime and freelance spend.
- Liaise with Technical Operations and Production teams to ensure that forward scheduling meets future requirements.
- Financial reporting across the department – overtime and special payments and tracking of spend in conjunction with either the Department Directors or the Business Operations Manager.
- Working with managers and directors on studio projects and planning, arranging travel, kit, risk assessments and advances as necessary.
- Maintaining, operating, and improving a range of office processes and administrative systems to ensure the smooth running of the team and accurate record keeping for the department and deployments.
- Negotiate rates for resources as necessary and raise POs for these resources.
- Manage the relationship between vendors and the business including the workflow of invoice payments.
- Raise contracts for resources as necessary.
- Ensuring business compliance through requirements such as IR35 assessments and Right to Work Checks.
- Ensure payments for guests, contributors and vendors are fulfilled.
- Fulfil any post-production paperwork as necessary, including archive rights and music reporting.
- Liaise with Volant departments for resources as necessary and ensure all processes are followed.
- Fulfil other administrative tasks as necessary.
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of Iran and Afghanistan International’s editorial vision.
- Good comprehension of TV News production.
- Knowledge of data protection law.
- Interpersonal and communication skills sufficient to establish and maintain effective relations with a wide range of internal and external contacts.
- Proven track record of being organised and responsive in fast-paced environments, often with conflicting demands.
- Proven financial acumen.
- High standard of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Excellent Computer proficiency (MS Office – Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Sound knowledge of experience of using a scheduling system (ideally RotaCloud) and financial systems such as NetSuite.
- Shift work, 7 day a week role with occasional after-hours work.
