The TX Operator supports the reliable delivery of live and scheduled transmission services by executing playout operations, monitoring output quality, and responding to operational issues in real time. The role operates within defined TX workflows and procedures, working closely with MCR, Live Galleries, Scheduling and Media Management to ensure uninterrupted, compliant broadcast output. TX Operators are responsible for maintaining operational accuracy, escalating issues appropriately, and contributing to a resilient, well-controlled transmission environment.
Responsibilities
- Execute day-to-day TX and playout operations to support reliable live and scheduled output.
- Monitor channel output, playlists, and signals to ensure compliance with broadcast and quality standards.
- Identify, respond to, and escalate transmission issues promptly and clearly in line with established TX procedures.
- Maintain accurate playlists, logs, and operational handovers.
- Maintain up-to-date operational knowledge through training, documentation and hands-on experience with evolving workflows and systems.
- Coordinate with Live Galleries, MCR, Scheduling and Ingest to maintain service continuity.
- Operate broadcast and playout systems in accordance with approved workflows and controls.
- Contribute to a safe, compliant and professional broadcast environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Experience in a live broadcast, transmission or playout environment, or demonstrable operational experience with broadcast systems.
- Working knowledge of transmission workflows and playout systems, with the ability to follow defined procedures accurately.
- Ability to recognise, respond to and escalate transmission incidents in line with operational processes.
- Calm, focused and detail‑oriented approach during live output and high‑pressure situations.
- Clear and professional communication skills, supporting effective teamwork and handovers.
- Commitment to broadcast compliance, operational standards and health & safety requirements.
- Willingness to learn, adapt and contribute to continuous operational improvement.
- Reliable, punctual and flexible, with the ability to work shifts in a 24/7 environment.
