Summary

The Lead Media Logistics is responsible for the management of all media related to live and non-live news and programming content, the design, ownership and continuous improvement of end-to-end media logistics workflows — encompassing automated file movement, live recording chains, and system integrations — as well as the implementation of Ingest and Media Management workflows and providing technical assistance to related teams. They provide insight to continuously improve media management workflows and processes, with a strong emphasis on automation, integration, and operational resilience.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee QC of all Volant Media transmission content.
  • Manage the Archive team.
  • Perform edit fixes and prepare TX-ready media.
  • Coordinate with Scheduling and TX on program acquisitions and materials.
  • Maintain and update BTS records for programming.
  • Manage acquisitions workflows and documentation.
  • Lead the design and governance of end-to-end file movement workflows, including automated transfer pipelines, watch-folder logic, and delivery routing across ingest, storage, and playout systems.
  • Own and develop integrations between media systems (MAM, PAM, scheduling, playout, and cloud platforms), ensuring reliable data exchange and workflow continuity.
  • Support ingest operations with technical issues.
  • Ingest media from various sources.
  • Organise media in Mimir.
  • Monitor and manage server capacity, expanding rule-based and automated management.
  • Maintain naming and indexing conventions, exploring advanced indexing and automation tools.
  • Lead and oversee live recording workflows across diverse sources (satellite, IP, remote contribution, and studio), ensuring capture, monitoring, and timely delivery to downstream systems.
  • Monitor feeds and perform QC checks using automated tools.
  • Prepare and export media as needed.
  • Report on media issues and resolve where possible.
  • Review workflows and processes to promote automation, innovation, and overall efficiency.
  • Join cross-functional groups to improve workflows and services, driving innovation and automation across teams.

Requirements

  • Experience of media management, ingest, or contribution operations.
  • Technical knowledge of video editing software, encoders, signal standards, file formats, codecs and wrappers (e.g. mxf, mpeg, h264).
  • Experience in editing on Adobe Premiere Pro.
  • Knowledge of automated QC software.
  • Understanding of ML/AI as applied to metadata enrichment and organisation.
  • Hands-on experience with media workflow automation platforms (e.g. Telestream Vantage, Vidispine, or equivalent) and/or cloud-based media services (e.g. AWS Elemental, Qibb, Azure Media Services).
  • Experience managing live recording chains, including scheduling, monitoring, and fault recovery for satellite, IP, and remote contribution feeds.
  • Familiarity with system integration methods, including API-based connectivity, watchfolder automation, and MAM/PAM interoperability across broadcast and media supply chains.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work in a pressurised environment and prioritise accordingly.
  • Ability to help solve technical issues related to media workflows including ingest, management and outgest.
  • Capable of taking the initiative and leading by example, delegating up and down.
  • Adaptation to rapidly changing live environments.
  • Proven ability to embrace innovation and apply technology improvement to media workflows.
  • Good understanding of copyright restrictions attached to certain media.
  • Clear understanding of how the broadcast infrastructure and workflows affect our wider business here at Volant Media.
  • Willingness to learn specific support profiles, with an emphasis on broadcasting and transmission technologies.
  • Good team player, able to gain and share knowledge equally.
  • Knowledge of broadcast principles and workflows.
  • Interest in news and current events.
  • Fluency in English. Knowledge of Farsi is not required for this role, but it is considered a bonus.
