Location: Newbury + Hybrid

Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits

Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday

What You’ll Do

  • You’ll play a key role in protecting people and enabling a critical business operation in a fast‑moving, positive, and challenging environment.
  • This is more than a compliance role — you’ll help build a strong Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) culture by working collaboratively with teams, partners, and suppliers to achieve the best outcomes for everyone.
  • Support the Property and Facilities teams to ensure HS&E is effectively managed across projects and day‑to‑day operations.
  • Monitor HS&E performance, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement across the property portfolio.
  • Lead and support incident investigations, ensuring learning is captured and shared.
  • Provide assurance across subcontractor and supplier management, including reviewing and monitoring H&S policies.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor on specialist areas such as RF hazards, fire safety, work at height, electrical safety, hazardous substances, occupational health, and more.
  • Support the development and implementation of emergency preparedness and response plans.
  • Partner closely with internal teams, third parties, and external auditors to maintain strong HS&E governance.
  • Maintain compliance with ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards, supporting and preparing for audits.
  • Coach and support members of the property team to strengthen HS&E capability and awareness.
  • Support event risk assessments and ensure safe planning and delivery.
  • Work under the guidance of the VodafoneThree Senior HSE Manager while taking ownership of your area.

Who You Are

  • A confident and engaging communicator who can influence positively at all levels.
  • Strong technical HS&E expertise, ideally within construction, engineering, or technical trades environments.
  • Experience coaching and supporting teams to build practical, real‑world safety solutions.
  • A pragmatic, solutions‑focused mindset with strong risk management capability.
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health (or equivalent).
  • An environmental qualification and membership of IOSH (or equivalent professional body).
  • A curious, enthusiastic self‑starter who enjoys learning and improving how things are done.
  • Reliable and accountable, with a strong sense of ownership for outcomes and standards.
  • Organised and focused, with the ability to manage priorities in an agile environment.
  • Skilled at building positive, collaborative relationships with colleagues, partners, and suppliers.
