Cambridge Center for Adult Education (CCAE) is a nonprofit organization with an annual operating budget of $2.5 million and a staff of 15 full-time staff. We run nearly 2,000 classes over 4 terms, taught by over 200 professionals who are experts in their chosen fields. CCAE owns and operates two historically preserved properties in vibrant Harvard Square.
CCAE is seeking a talented, engaged, and experienced Korean Language instructor. CCAE offers 15 different World Languages in a friendly group setting and with students from all backgrounds. Our classes empower students to use languages confidently with plenty of opportunities for practice, participation, and cultural encounters. CCAE offers weekly classes for almost every level of proficiency in Korean. Our language classes integrate culture (songs, literature, film, holidays) into the curriculum. We use the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) to guide our language programs. This instructor will teach in-person at CCAE. The hourly rate begins at $25+/hr, commensurate with experience. Instructors can also take one free class per term (up to $300).
Qualifications
- Previous teaching experience.
- BA/MA preferred.
- Knowledge of literature, culture, etc.
- Ability to work with a diverse student body with different cultural and social backgrounds.
- Familiarity with the Common European Framework of Reference, language acquisition theory, and teaching methods.
- Enjoying working in a team of very motivated instructors.
- Punctual and reliable.
