At a time when digital and virtual experiences have become omnipresent, Cambridge Center for Adult Education (CCAE) remains deeply committed to place-based, person-to-person, experiential learning. CCAE is a nonprofit organization with an annual operating budget of $2.5 million and a staff of 15 FTEs. We run nearly 2,000 classes over 4 terms, taught by over 200 professionals who are experts in their chosen fields. Job Summary:
The Cambridge Center for Adult Education, located in Harvard Square, is currently seeking a part-time instructor to teach a cooking or mixology with cannabis class for adults, beginning in our Spring 2026 term.
We are looking to add several new and exciting classes to our curriculum as well as find instructors to teach existing classes. We are open to collaborating with qualified and exceptional individuals to design new classes pertaining to their expertise and interests. Interdisciplinary classes which focus on cultural and historical aspects of food in addition to technique are highly encouraged. If you are interested in teaching a specific class that is not listed below, please include a brief (500 characters or less) course description in your letter of interest. The list below includes general types of classes we are seeking to introduce into our program but is not an exhaustive list:
- Cooking With Cannabis
- Cannabis Infused Fondue
- Non Alcoholic Cannabis Libations
- Cannabis Infused Baked Goods
The hourly rate begins at $25+/hr (for all instruction and preparation time), commensurate with experience. Instructors can also take one free class per term (up to $300).
Qualifications:
Demonstrable experience and success in the food and beverage sector.
Experience as an educator/instructor.
An ability to engage a diverse demographic of adult learners.
A culinary arts degree, training, or experience in a food related educational field is preferred.
Lived cultural experience is also highly valued.
