voestalpine Turnout Technology UK Limited is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Finance Controller to join our team. The Finance Controller will play a crucial role in managing the financial operations of the company, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support the company's growth and sustainability.

We are looking for an experienced Financial Controller to undertake all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory and financial reporting, budget and forecast preparation, as well as development of internal control policies and procedures. Finance Controller responsibilities will also include financial risk management. This is an exciting opportunity for an established Finance Manager/Controller or an individual on the upward curve of their career who is keen to secure a diversified role, giving solid exposure to a range of responsibilities for future career enhancement, supported by an experienced FD.

Financial Accounting & Reporting
  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for the group of companies.
  • Oversight and ownership of the production of the Management Accounts and KPI’s and achieving deadlines.
  • Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Present and explain variances to the Finance Director and SMT heads of department.
  • Challenge Heads of Department on and around their financial performance.
  • Support in the preparation of annual accounts.
  • Oversight and ownership of weekly reporting and dashboards.
  • Oversight and ownership of month and year end routines.
  • Reporting financial information to external stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance, identifying areas for improvement and cost‑saving opportunities.
Financial Controls
  • Oversight of CAPEX requests, processes and controls.
  • Preparation of balance sheet and reconciliations.
  • Preparation of fixed assets, depreciation, additions and disposals.
  • Ensuring stock, maintenance, flying provisions are appropriately assessed and addressed.
  • Ensure expense / credit card policies are followed and maintained.
Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Oversee and manage the financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Supporting with the production of annual budgets and rolling forecasts.
  • Supporting with commercial assessments of new contracts and tenders.
  • Preparation of the budget and mid‑term planning.
Audit
  • Coordinate and lead the annual audit process.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and control.
  • Plan year‑end process liaise with external auditors and tax advisers.
  • Produce tax pack and accounts analysis to support production of stats and tax computations.
  • Collate all information for R&D tax claims and agree to analysis schedule.
Working Capital Management
  • Management of cash position and rolling 13‑week forecast.
  • Oversight of supplier payments and maintaining supplier communications.
  • Oversight of debtor invoicing, receipts and maintaining customer communications.
  • Authorising bank payments.
  • Preparation of the quarterly VAT returns.
Other duties
  • Collaborate with other departments to support business objectives and initiatives.
  • Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Continuous improvement projects.
  • Systems review projects.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Level 3 ACA qualification, ideally Level 4 ACA qualified.
  • Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
  • Advanced degree in Accounting.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and decision‑making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Chartered Accountant and audit experience.
  • Strong knowledge of financial regulations and standards.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced and dynamic environment.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
What we offer
  • Core hours: between 35.5 per week.
  • 0800 – 1600 Monday
  • 0800 – 1630 Tuesday – Thursday
  • 0800 – 1200 Friday
  • Annual leave: 22 days PLUS 10 bank holidays including Christmas closure.
