Location: London OR Newbury + Hybrid

Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits

Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday

What You’ll Do:

  • Establish an architecture roadmap setting the direction for the next few years. The objective is to steer planned technical upgrades, capacity uplifts, system rationalisation and decommissioning through functional convergence in conjunction with broader technology stack evolution.
  • Ensure compliance with target architecture and principles by leading architectural assurance activities across the delivery lifecycle, including reviewing solution designs, presenting at governance forums (e.g. SBD, ARB, Digital Architecture Design Authority), and addressing feedback to secure sign-off.
  • Ensure that systems and platforms continue to meet business SLAs, performance goals & Vodafone security guidelines.
  • Ensure systems and platforms meet agreed non-functional requirements, including performance, resilience, security, and operability.
  • Establish yourself as the technical and functional point of contact for the web applications and CMS domains, supporting major releases and incidents. Provide direction and guidance to solution architects, developers and other technical staff.
  • Support cross-functional teams to deliver high quality software through clear definitions of success whilst building trust within teams and empowering them with the right skills to be autonomous in a safe manner.
  • Be an active member of our Architecture & Web Development Guilds, sharing best practices, encouraging collaboration, as well as coaching colleagues and developing and maintaining relationships with the wider UK and Group technology leads.

Who You Are:

  • Understanding of fundamental elements of web like HTTP, HTML, JavaScript & CSS
  • Demonstrable experience designing and integrating enterprise-scale CMS architectures
  • Understanding of fundamentals of SOLID OO design principles, and be able to apply them to application solution design
  • Experience designing the technology and application architecture for Enterprise scale web applications including Microservices and Micro Frontends
  • Experience with cloud solutions & containerised web application design
  • A good understanding of the OWASP top 10, and common patterns to protect against those vulnerabilities
  • Deep knowledge of web infrastructure subjects i.e. CDNs, WAFs, DNSs, SSL and TLS
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience designing, consuming and governing RESTful APIs
