The Technical Design Authority (TDA) is accountable for the design and delivery of products and services within the Packet Core domain. The TDA will ensure all solutions are technically sound, meet business requirements, and align with the overall architectural strategy. Their responsibilities include defining technical standards, reviewing designs, and providing final approval before implementation.

The Data Services domain provides engineering leadership for platforms that enable IP connectivity, signalling, mobility, and interworking between the operator’s network and external partners, roaming networks, and the internet.

  • Drive the technical strategy, roadmap, and lifecycle management of Signalling and Mobility platforms (SGSN, MME/AMF, DRA/DEA DNS/DHCP interconnect gateways).
  • Drive the evolution for 4G/5G mobility evolution, including transition to cloud-native signalling and mobility management in line with 5G core architecture.
  • Ensure signalling and mobility platforms support commercial growth, new services (e.g. IoT, enterprise mobility, private networks), and roaming expansion.
  • Oversee design, build, integration, and acceptance of signalling/mobility platforms into the live network.
  • Manage lifecycle of platforms, ensuring capacity, resilience, and security are continuously optimised.
  • Manage Data Core network Dimensioning and Capacity Management processes for signalling and mobility Applications.
  • Drive automation, virtualisation, and simplification initiatives to reduce cost and improve agility.
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects and alignment with cross-functional programs (e.g. Core, Transport, Security).
  • Partner with Operations and Service Management to maintain high availability, stability, and incident responsiveness across signalling domains.
  • Proactively identify risks (e.g. roaming disruptions, signalling storms, cybersecurity threats) and implement preventive measures.

Who you are:

  • Working knowledge of 3G, LTE & 5GSA data networks on an end-to-end basis.
  • In-depth knowledge of signalling protocols and mobility systems.
  • Proven experience with 4G/5G Core and mobility management (AMF, SMF, MME, DRA/DEA).
  • 10+ years in telecoms network engineering, with significant focus on signalling/mobility.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering complex core network transformation programs.
