What you’ll do:
- Deliver programmes and associated projects to advance UK Networks initiatives, ranging from new technologies to retiring legacy systems.
- Manage a programme portfolio of £5m–£50m per annum with complex risks and stakeholder engagement.
- Lead a team of up to eight FTE, defining, managing and delivering Network Engineering Transport and Security cross‑functional programmes.
- Act as bridge between technical delivery teams, risk and compliance functions, and senior leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure programmes and projects are established, executed and closed following standard governance.
- Document outputs, analysis, and tools used in project activities.
- Handover deliverables to operations, ensuring skills and knowledge transfer.
- Maintain effective risk mitigation and issue management processes.
- Clarify skill requirements and build a capable programme team.
- Define clear roles, responsibilities and reporting relationships for stakeholders; provide performance feedback.
- Manage delivery scope and resolve deviations.
- Communicate and report accurately and timely to stakeholders, escalating where required.
- Manage the end‑to‑end programme budget and ensure compliance with network and finance processes.
- Line‑manage project managers within the programme.
- Ensure compliance with the Group Integrated Business Planning process for procurement and inventory management.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5–10 years of programme management or relevant experience.
- Experience managing large‑scale programmes with senior stakeholder engagement.
- Understanding of OSS technologies.
- Strong programme governance and control mechanisms to achieve excellent customer outcomes.
- Define scope, business objectives, requirements and deliverables.
- Create WBS dictionary with detailed deliverables, activities and schedule.
- Negotiate with stakeholders.
- Line management of direct and indirect teams including third‑party suppliers.
- Facilitate completion review meetings and leverage programme governance.
