What You’ll Do
- This role involves supporting legal compliance across strategic projects, procurement, wholesale, and AI initiatives.
- The successful candidate will lead the delivery of high‑quality legal advice on high‑impact initiatives, manage legal risk, and ensure compliance with evolving legislation.
- Building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners is crucial, as is driving continuous improvement in legal processes.
High quality legal advice: Provide clear, pragmatic legal support across strategic projects, procurement, wholesale and AI, ensuring compliance and protecting commercial integrity.
Internal stakeholder management: Build strong relationships, deliver aligned and timely legal advice, support cross‑functional collaboration and help manage risk.
Risk assessment and assurance: Support legal risk assessments and apply assurance frameworks to minimise regulatory, financial and reputational exposure.
Governance and improvement: Support training, streamline legal processes, promote automation and scalability, and help embed best practice across teams.
External stakeholder management: Maintain effective relationships with suppliers, customers, group functions, external counsel and commercial partners.
Horizon scanning: Monitor relevant regulatory and legislative developments, share knowledge and contribute to legal team learning and positive change.
Who You Are
- Legal experience: Experience working in an in‑house legal team or within a commercial contracting team in private practice.
- Industry knowledge: Understanding of the technology and telecoms sectors, with awareness of relevant legal trends.
- Risk management: Proactively manages legal risk with appropriate oversight, balancing risk and mitigation to support business targets and enabling efficiencies through process and technology improvements.
- Commercial acumen: Able, or able to develop the capability, to balance legal risk with commercial opportunity to support strategic, business‑aligned decisions.
- Stakeholder and external engagement: Able, or able to develop the capability, to manage stakeholders effectively, negotiate well, and build trusted relationships that support alignment and strategic outcomes.
- Analytical and communication skills: Applies legal analysis and data to extract key insights and generate pragmatic solutions, communicating clearly and appropriately to diverse audiences with suitable supervision.
