Location: Newbury + Hybrid

Working Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week - Mon to Fri Hybrid

Technical Design Authority - Subscriber Management is a senior technical role within the technology function, accountable for design, delivery, and optimisation of the Subscriber Data Management solutions. This role ensures that these mission-critical systems remain robust, future-ready, and aligned with the organisation’s strategic and operational goals. The position is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of technology used to provide services within the domain. Capacity management and system optimisation is a continuous priority, with the role focused on enhancing reliability, efficiency, and cost‑effectiveness through performance management, analytics, and technology upgrades.

  • Provide technical leadership to the Design community spanning strategy to implementation and interfacing with various internal teams and external teams to ensure technology meets customer needs and also fulfils regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with partners to produce clear low/high level designs and a development plan, driving development using practical knowledge of best practices and focussing on development quality and functional capability delivery.
  • Drive effective partner management, ensuring delivery standards are defined, maintained and continuously improved.
  • Derive the appropriate test strategy and, with the QA teams, planning across VodafoneThree and Partner teams to assure successful projects/programme delivery.
  • Work with key technology and business stakeholders ensuring cross functional engagement and collaboration to assure successful development.
  • Provide active guidance to partners to support capability maturity, evolving with technology and industry trends, applying appropriate measures for continuous improvement.
  • Support the development of a culture of continuous improvement in the way we operate, including release and test automation, process automation and technical innovation.

Partner Ecosystem - Systems Integrators: Tech Mahindra, TCS, Capgemini, Sogeti. Cloud & Hyperscalers: CNIS, NRHO, On prem Broadcom for VNF and CNF hosting.

Who you are

Demonstrable experience of providing technical, decision making and problem solving leadership for a domain and can demonstrate setting quality standards for delivery and design. Demonstrate the ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders within the organization to act as the liaison between the business, other technical communities and the 3rd party delivery teams to ensure the delivery of the business requirements. This should include the ability to convert business requirements into a technical solution. Experience in working in an environment where you have managed delivery to a predetermined contractual/business outcome and know how to influence/negotiate technical outcomes with 3rd parties including conflict resolution due to changing priorities. In depth understanding of 3G, 4G and 5G Core Network Architectures including IMS, and an understanding of the following systems: UDM, UDR, SPR, HLR/HSS, EiR, ENUM & MNP. In-depth knowledge of Diameter Network interfaces including S6a, Sh, SWx, Zh, SLh, Cx, S13 and in-depth knowledge of LDAP & HTTP2.
