Location: Newbury HQ + Hybrid working

Working Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Mon – Fri

Job Description

The Lead Content & Information Architecture Manager is the senior content leader for Business Digital, responsible for defining and driving the content strategy, information architecture, governance and content design standards across all digital channels and products. The role ensures content delivers exceptional customer experiences while supporting commercial and strategic business objectives. As the subject matter expert for Content within Business Digital, the Lead Content Manager shapes the future content vision, capability and operating model, embedding best practice in content design, accessibility, discoverability and optimisation. They lead a team of content specialists and work closely with Digital Growth, Product Owner and Design teams to create clear, consistent and effective customer journeys. The role acts as the primary point of connection with Consumer Digital content teams and strategic partners such as CMS and content technology providers, identifying opportunities to leverage new capabilities, tooling, innovation and industry best practice. They champion experimentation, continuous improvement and data-driven decision making to continuously enhance customer and business outcomes.

What you'll do

  • Content Capability, Innovation & Industry Leadership – Act as the senior content authority for Business Digital. Define content design standards, frameworks and ways of working. Build strong relationships with strategic partners to drive innovation, introduce best practice and accelerate capability growth. Monitor industry developments, AI-enabled content approaches and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential to improve customer experience, efficiency and business outcomes. Influence senior leaders across Business, Marketing, and Digital to champion customer-centered content approaches and secure investment in content improvements. Represent Business Digital design in senior governance forums, influencing investment decisions, roadmap priorities and experience strategy.
  • Content Strategy & Governance – Define and lead the digital content strategy and operating model aligned to customer and business goals. Establish content standards, tone of voice, and governance across all digital platforms, working closely with the Brand and Marketing teams. Ensure consistency, clarity and quality of content across journeys.
  • Content Platforms & Tooling – Define Business Digital requirements and roadmap for content management platforms and content operations tooling. Establish strategic relationships with CMS partners, such as Contentful to influence product development, maximise platform value and identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency.
  • Content Design & Optimisation – Oversee creation of user-centered content that supports key journeys and tasks, aligned to the Business Digital quarterly roadmap and ensuring resource capacity is planned to support priorities. Ensure content is structured for usability, accessibility and SEO. Establish content performance measurement frameworks and KPIs, using insight and analytics to demonstrate business value, identify optimisation opportunities and prioritise investment. Ensure all outputs meet high standards of quality, accessibility, performance and consistency.
  • Information Architecture – Define the long-term information architecture structure for Business Digital channels, ensuring scalable content structures, metadata models, taxonomy and governance frameworks that support customer needs, operational efficiency and future platform evolution.
  • Team Leadership – Lead and develop content designers, content editors and copywriters. Ensure content is high quality, on-brand and aligned to standards. Build capability in content design and digital best practice. Drive high-quality, on-time delivery across all initiatives. Ensure work is effectively showcased to stakeholders, with clear visibility of progress and outcomes. Create a cross-skilled, flexible team able to support multiple product areas efficiently. Lead a culture of experimentation and evidence-based decision making, using customer insight, testing and performance analytics to continuously improve content effectiveness, engagement and conversion outcomes.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration – Partner with Product Owners, Product Managers and Design team to ensure content is integrated into journeys from the outset. Proactively identify experience, design or delivery improvements and feed these into Product Owners’ roadmaps. Work with Digital Growth and Marketing teams to align messaging and campaigns. Support SEO, trading and support objectives through effective content.
  • Content Advocacy – Own the strategic relationship with Consumer Digital content leaders to ensure Business Digital benefits from shared patterns, reusable components, experimentation outcomes, tooling enhancements and content best practices. Represent Business Digital content requirements within wider Digital forums and influence the future content direction across VodafoneThree Digital.

Qualifications

Who you are

  • Extensive experience leading content strategy, content design or content operations within complex digital organisations
  • Expertise in content design, information architecture, content governance and digital customer journeys
  • Experience with enterprise CMS platforms, particularly Contentful
  • Demonstrable experience developing content strategies that drive measurable customer and commercial outcomes
  • Experience building and leading high-performing content teams
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience influencing senior leadership teams
  • Experience working within agile product and digital delivery environments
  • Telecommunications or regulated industry experience.
