Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Mon to Fri
The hybrid working approach allows employees to work both in the office and at home, providing flexibility and resources needed to succeed. Employees are expected to come into the office 2‑3 days each week, for at least 8 days per month, and coordinate with their line manager on expectations.
Interconnect Wholesale Billing is responsible for managing billing across a significant portfolio of annual cost and revenue flows. The role involves cross‑functional engagement with Wholesale Finance, International Roaming, Interconnect, Sub brand, MVNO, IT Development teams and third‑party vendors. It ensures technical and operational aspects of Interconnect partnerships work effectively and proactively manages end‑to‑end operational experience of Interconnect, billing and reporting.
As the Billing & Technical Specialist, you will serve as the technical lead on projects, drive development and implementation of new processes to mitigate inaccuracies, and provide technical guidance to ensure successful project delivery. You will support the complex transition of VodafoneThree’s network, overseeing migration from legacy Three systems to Vodafone’s platforms, collaborate with Technology teams to ensure smooth, accurate migration with minimal customer disruption, and maintain compliance with industry regulations and internal policies. You will also integrate two billing teams and systems from Vodafone UK and Three UK, managing the full lifecycle of wholesale billing operations, data integrity, dispute resolution and reporting.
What You Will Do
- Support the complex transition of VodafoneThree’s network, ensuring a smooth migration from legacy Three systems to Vodafone's platforms with minimal disruption to customers and services.
- Provide technical expertise, guidance, and mitigate technical risks to ensure successful project delivery.
- Deliver wholesale billing accuracy, revenue assurance, and optimisation of cost and revenue.
- Develop innovative reporting and billing solutions from a variety of data sources, often involving third parties and systems, to drive commercial decision making and business unit performance.
- Represent billing at all stages of Network and IT changes to ensure changes are implemented successfully, keeping customer billing experience pivotal in every decision.
- Ensure all activities comply with UK regulations and industry standards.
- Collaborate with senior Commercial and Revenue Assurance teams to identify revenue leakage and implement controls and audits.
Qualifications
- Extensive senior‑level experience in Interconnect Billing Operations within the telecommunications industry, with strong knowledge of telecoms infrastructure (Network, Billing, Mediation, CRM, Provisioning).
- Advanced technical and analytical skills, including PL/SQL, SQL, Excel, and database tools (MS Access, Business Objects, MicroStrategy), with expertise in handling and validating complex data.
- Proven track record of leading complex IT and network migration/integration projects.
- Strong understanding of data structures and the ability to access, manage, and manipulate data robustly and efficiently.
- Excellent stakeholder management, organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to multi‑task and continuously improve processes and service delivery.
