Location: This role involves travel of up to 50% between Farnborough, Newbury and Bristol and includes a Job Related Car (JRC).

Salary: Excellent basic salary plus bonus and Vodafone benefits.

Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week - Monday to Friday.

Security Clearance: This position requires you to hold or the ability and willingness to obtain a UK Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.

What You’ll Do

  • The Health, Safety and Environmental specialist will be responsible for ensuring the appropriate Health, Safety & Environmental measures are in place across VBSE, and for all phases of our projects and services.
  • Acting as the SME for ensuring existing and new systems, environments and equipment etc remain compliant and safe.
  • Reviewing, assessing and implementing new and existing safety documentation against VFUK policy, including safety case reports, safety management plans and VBSE Risk Assessments etc.
  • Provision of specialist advice on the application of safety arrangements and managing internal investigations and remedial actions based on HSE audits, quarterly site returns and near miss incidents etc.
  • Assessing the impact of equipment changes, safety alerts and safety justifications to support the commissioning and approval of equipment. Advising internal personnel, customer safety teams and senior management on safety matters.
  • Responsible for all VBSE H&S requirements, including Risk Assessments, VBSE Site H&S checks, representing VBSE at internal and external meetings such as safety working groups, change boards and any other appropriate safety meetings.
  • Working with the central HSE team to ensure best practice in the organisation and supporting internal and external inspections/audits, including any investigations and actions required.

Who You Are

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Extensive knowledge and experience of regulatory compliance, including workplace safety practices, hazard identification and assessment, incident investigations and reporting etc.
  • Experience of providing technical advice and delivery of safety products or services and working within regulated industries.
  • Excellent team working skills with an ability to communicate and influence.
  • Be a Chartered Member of IOSH or working towards, NEBOSH General certificate in occupational HSE.
  • Experience working within a secure environment and an understanding of adherence to security policies.
  • ICT Skills.
