Working hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week – Monday to Friday + On-call (1 in 4)
Hybrid working approach: 2‑3 days in office each week, at least 8 days per month.

What You’ll Do:
- Work in the Technology Operations Networks Operations Centre on a range of technologies (including SDH, PDH, Ethernet, Optical, MSPP, CNMS, Call Manager, Cisco TAC, Prime, etc).
- Specialise in SDH and PDH but will be expected to work across all technologies.
- Work as a shift engineer, providing network monitoring, initial fault diagnosis and resolution.
- Perform in‑depth diagnostics and intermittent fault resolution as necessary.
- Professionally represent Real Time Operations in all day‑to‑day operations.
- Proactively monitor customer networks to identify fault occurrences.
- Acknowledge, check, and respond to customer fault reports.
- Perform timely and accurate basic initial diagnostics, ensuring fault clearance wherever possible.
- Ensure accurate ticket detail entry and updates for all fault reports.
- Ensure relevant and accurate information available to assist in fault diagnosis and clearance.
- Monitor fault tickets, prioritise, and track progress as appropriate.
- Ensure technical and managerial escalation completed to defined time‑scales.
- Test and liaise with customers and other internal or external agencies and third parties.
- Ensure overall adherence to quality procedures and working processes.
- Ensure awareness of SLA agreements, and perform all ticket actions in time‑scales to support SLA success.
- Provide input to customer and management reports.
- Identify and agree cover wherever possible for planned absences.
- Proactively identify self‑development needs.
- Actively support team members in day‑to‑day operations.
Who You Are:
- Significant experience in telecommunications, including network management experience within an operation centre environment.
- Ability to work and understand across SDH, PDH and optical technologies (Ericsson, Nortel, Ciena).
- Proven track record in network management & troubleshooting including ability to produce Network incidents reports in relation to Network events.
- Experienced at working with multiple third‑party network providers and equipment vendors.
- Able to communicate at appropriate levels of target audience on both technical and non‑technical topics (including process activities).
- Minimum SC clearance or ability to meet SC criteria.
