What You’ll Do
The margin optimisation team implements a data-driven approach to identify cost savings and revenue generating opportunities that contribute to the Vodafone Business P&L. This target driven programme of work contributes to the identification and realisation of all commercial opportunities.
The Commercial Manager – Margin Optimisation will lead initiatives that drive sustainable and profitable growth across Vodafone Business. This role is pivotal in identifying and delivering margin improvement opportunities through systemic change, data-led insights, and a relentless focus on customer experience.
You will be a self-starter who thrives in a target-driven environment, capable of initiating, owning, and delivering complex margin improvement programs with a sharp eye for uncovering margin opportunities. Your deep understanding of Vodafone’s end-to-end systems and processes will enable you to uncover root causes of margin leakage and implement lasting solutions that enhance both profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Lead and deliver strategic margin optimisation initiatives aligned to a defined annual target
- Identify and implement cost reduction and revenue enhancement opportunities across Vodafone Business
- Drive continuous improvement by embedding root cause analysis and preventative controls into operational processes
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, Finance, Service, and Technology teams to maximise account profitability
- Act as a subject matter expert on commercial processes, supporting complex account issues and vendor escalations
- Champion a customer-first mindset, ensuring all initiatives positively impact customer experience
- Own and evolve reporting tools and dashboards to track performance and support decision-making
- Lead data-driven investigations into margin anomalies, leveraging large datasets to simplify insights and drive action
- Support the development and automation and implement simplified ways of working
Who You Are
- Proven experience in a commercial, target-led environment within telecommunications or a similar sector
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to manage and interpret large, complex datasets
- Advanced Excel and data visualisation skills; experience with Power BI is preferred
- Deep understanding of operational systems (e.g., billing, ordering, inventory) and their impact on margin
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence senior stakeholders
- Experience in continuous improvement, process design, and root cause analysis
- Ability to develop and present compelling business cases to support margin improvement initiatives
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with competing priorities
