What you’ll do
Vodafone is committed to driving our Cloud strategy and engineering evolution. This is an exciting opportunity to join the global Cloud Engineering Chapter to transform the financial operations of our team through establishing a FinOps approach to cost management. This role requires a strategic thinker with strong analytical and financial skills, and the ability to apply technical expertise to drive our commercial and financial position.
- Establish and implement a FinOps approach to cost management.
- Monitor and analyze cloud usage and platform consumption costs to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Architecture, Engineering, and Product, to promote a cost-conscious mindset and ensure achievement of financial goals.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes for Cloud Engineering services.
- Generate regular and accurate reports to promote cost transparency.
- Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance financial processes and systems.
- Provide insights and technical recommendations to leadership and the wider team on cloud financial performance and strategic initiatives for optimization.
- Lead the technical delivery of cost optimization initiatives to implementation.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure optimal use of products and identify opportunities to rationalize or improve tooling strategies and roadmaps.
Who you are
- Proven experience in financial operations, cloud cost management, or a related role.
- Advanced knowledge of cloud financial principles and practices.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience in creating and managing digital dashboards (PowerBI, etc.).
- Proficiency in cloud financial management tools and software (e.g., AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, Google Cloud Billing).
- Good technical knowledge of Cloud and DevOps tools, with a passion for technology.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Superior reporting skills, including executive reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
- FinOps Certified Practitioner preferred.
