About the Role
We are currently hiring for a Trades Assistant in our Osborne Park, Perth Location. This position is responsible for assisting in the installation and maintenance of the Vocus Fibre network. As part of the connections process, the role will be involved in fibre jointing, copper installations, infrastructure upgrades and fault restorations. Other duties include:
- Optical cable splicing
- Optical cable hauling
- Network maintenance
- After hours’ restoration
- Pit and pipe installations
- Building entries
What you’ll do in this role
As the Trade Assistant your responsibilities will include:
- Optical Cable Splicing and Hauling
- Optical fibre network maintenance
- Pit and pipe installations
- Building entries
- Fault restoration
- Take part in the on-call roster for afterhours fault restoration
- Customer management – including Installation and Maintenance of Customer Enclosures & associated cabling
- Ensure customer connections are completed within required time frames
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction
- Liaise with Management on issues
- Proactively identify possible improvements processes
- Involvement in implementation of improved systems and processes
- Comply with continuous improvement initiatives and management systems
- Report any deficiencies in management systems and where appropriate, suggest areas for improvement
- Comply with all risk management initiatives throughout the business and report any risks
About You
You’ll have eligible work rights of Perm Residency or Australian Citizen.
- Proven previous experience in a similar Trade Assistant role
- Strong cabling experience
- Structured Cabling qualifications (Desired)
- Excellent communications skills
- Ability to work effectively within a team
- High level of customer service skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work at heights and in confined spaces
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to train and supervise other staff
- Intermediate Computer Skills
- Current C Class Drivers Licence
- White Card (Construction Training)
