Role Overview

As Hardware Project Manager you will play a pivotal role in bringing innovative hardware products from concept to market. You will oversee the end‑to‑end project lifecycle, coordinating cross‑functional teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and on budget. By balancing technical requirements with business objectives, you will ensure that each product not only meets quality standards but also aligns with strategic goals, directly impacting VoCoVo’s growth and market competitiveness.

You will ideally be a results‑driven individual with a strong technical background in hardware development, complemented by excellent project management skills. You excel at risk management and stakeholder communication and are at your best in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment. A familiarity with Agile and traditional project management methodologies, as well as experience in scaling hardware products from prototype to mass production, would be highly valued. This role has a core focus upon hardware and as such we are seeking applicants with previous experience of project managing hardware development projects. Please also note that to apply for this position you must be based in the UK and have the legal right to work in the UK.

What we’re looking for

  • A proven track record of successfully managing complex hardware development projects from concept to production.
  • Strong technical knowledge of hardware design, prototyping, testing and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience of collaborating with and leading cross‑functional teams, including engineering, design, supply chain and quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall or hybrid) and tools (ie. Jira, MS Project).
  • Experience managing suppliers, vendors and contract manufacturers, including sourcing, negotiation, performance monitoring and risk management.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience presenting project updates to Exec and external partners.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills, with the ability to anticipate risks, develop mitigation strategies and drive resolution.
  • Experience managing budgets, schedules and resource allocation for multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance, certifications and quality standards relevant to hardware products (CE, UL, ISO).

Nice to have skills

  • Experience with global supply chain management, including working with international suppliers and navigating import/export regulations.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of test and validation processes, including environmental, reliability and compliance testing.
  • The ability to analyse data‑driven metrics to improve product development cycles, cost efficiency or quality.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the end‑to‑end hardware product development lifecycle, from concept and prototyping to production and launch.
  • Develop, maintain and track project schedules, budgets and resource plans, ensuring timely and cost‑effective delivery.
  • Coordinate cross‑functional teams, including engineering, design, manufacturing, quality and supply chain.
  • Oversee supplier and vendor management, including sourcing, contract negotiation, performance monitoring and risk mitigation.
  • Identify, assess and manage project risks and dependencies, implementing mitigation strategies to minimise impact.
  • Facilitate regular project meetings and status updates for stakeholders, including Exec.
  • Manage change control and scope adjustments, ensuring alignment with project objectives and stakeholder expectations.
  • Support prototype development, testing and validation, ensuring technical feasibility and performance standards are met.
  • Track and report on key project metrics, including time‑to‑market, cost performance and quality indicators.
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, recommending process enhancements and efficiency improvements for hardware development.

Salary

Salary range: £58,000 – £63,000
