The role involves producing all menu items in an efficient and consistent manner. This role reports directly to the Head Chef and is part of a team based in our attractive hotel in Manchester.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting the Head Chef with responsibility for the kitchen's daily operations.
  • In the Head Chef's absence, you will be responsible for ordering stock and dealing with suppliers.
  • Monitoring and controlling stock levels.
  • Unloading and putting away deliveries.
  • Implementing control measures and training staff about COSHH and Manual Handling.
  • Ensuring the cleaning schedules are followed and a high level of cleanliness throughout the kitchen is maintained at all times.
  • Liaising with the sales team for information regarding upcoming business bookings.
  • Cooking food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards.
  • Facilitating special requests from guests if received.
  • Managing wastage through correct product measurement.
  • Ensuring you are working towards all kitchen SOPs at all times.
  • Setting up and stocking food items and other necessary supplies.

An ideal candidate will have an excellent understanding of cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures. Demonstrable cooking experience including experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Chef De Partie is required. Familiarity with industry best practices and Basic Food Safety are essential.
