VOCAL– Voiceof Carers Across Lothian–is seekingan enthusiastic and experienced Carer Support Practitioner to join its busy teamto providecasework support to unpaid carers, with a particular focus on North West Edinburgh. The postholder will support unpaid carers to access person-centred support for their caring situation, health and wellbeing and personal development.

As a carer-led organisation, VOCAL offers a broad range of services to support unpaid carers in their caring role. The successful candidate will contribute to a collaborative team environment, helping to improve outcomes for carers and maximise engagement with VOCAL’s services.

To be successful in the role you will evidence strong interpersonal and communication skills and have experience of casework and delivering person-centred support.You will also demonstrate an awareness and understanding ofthe diverse range of caring situations, the impact of caring on peoples’livesand the barriers carers face at different points of the caring journey. Good working knowledge of health and social care will be expected.
