Overview
VNA Education are currently recruiting on behalf of a supportive and inclusive school who are seeking three dedicated Teaching Assistants to join their team from September 2026.
These are ongoing positions, offering an excellent opportunity for passionate education professionals to make a real difference in the lives of young people.
Teaching Assistant – General Support (2 positions)
The successful candidates will provide high-quality support to pupils across the school, working closely with teachers and the wider support team to promote learning, independence, and wellbeing.
- Support teachers with day-to-day classroom activities and general Teaching Assistant duties.
- Provide support to pupils with their learning, development, and engagement.
- Assist students with additional needs, including personal care where required.
- Support with intimate care responsibilities in line with school policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, SEND staff, and other professionals.
- Promote a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.
- Teaching Assistant – 1:1 SEND Support
The school is also seeking a proactive and reliable 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a SEND student on an individual basis.
This role requires someone who is confident, observant, and able to provide consistent support throughout the school day.
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a SEND student.
- Support the student outside of core lessons and during non-classroom activities.
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the student.
- Encourage engagement with learning and school routines.
- Proactively support the student's safety and ensure they remain within the school environment.
- Work closely with teaching staff and the SEND team to deliver personalised support.
Requirements
- Must hold a degree qualification.
- Experience working as a Teaching Assistant or within an educational setting is desirable.
- Must be confident supporting pupils with intimate care needs.
- Manual Handling training is essential.
- A caring, patient, and proactive approach.
- Additional Requirements
- Must hold a degree qualification.
- Experience working within education, SEND, or a similar support role is highly desirable.
- Excellent punctuality, reliability, and organisational skills.
- A proactive and resilient attitude.
- Ability to work independently and respond confidently to the needs of the student.
