Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:00pm

Maintenance Plumber – Housing Repairs

VNA Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Plumber to join a busy repairs and maintenance team within a large housing organisation covering Loughborough and the wider Leicestershire area.

This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Plumber with experience in reactive repairs, property maintenance or social housing who is looking for consistent full-time work.

You will be carrying out day-to-day plumbing repairs across occupied and vacant residential properties, diagnosing faults and completing repairs to a high standard.

As you will regularly be working in residents' homes, we are looking for someone who combines strong practical plumbing skills with a professional, respectful and customer-focused approach.

There is also potential for the contract to be extended or for the position to become permanent.

The Role

As a Maintenance Plumber, your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out reactive plumbing repairs across residential properties
  • Attending occupied and vacant homes throughout the local area
  • Diagnosing plumbing faults and identifying the appropriate repair
  • Completing day-to-day plumbing maintenance and remedial works
  • Repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures and fittings as required
  • Responding efficiently to maintenance requests and repair jobs
  • Ensuring repairs are completed correctly and to a high standard
  • Working across multiple properties as part of a busy repairs service
  • Identifying any additional maintenance issues during property visits
  • Working closely with the wider repairs and maintenance team
  • Maintaining high standards of Health & Safety
  • Keeping residents informed about works being carried out
  • Providing a professional and respectful service within residents' homes
  • Ensuring properties and work areas are left clean and tidy following repairs

About You

To be considered for this position, you should have:

  • Strong practical plumbing experience
  • Previous experience carrying out reactive repairs and maintenance
  • A recognised plumbing qualification or significant relevant industry experience
  • Good plumbing fault-finding and diagnostic skills
  • Ability to identify appropriate repairs and complete them efficiently
  • Strong practical problem-solving ability
  • Pride in the quality and finish of your work
  • Ability to work independently and manage your daily workload
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to work professionally within occupied residential properties
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a busy repairs and maintenance team

Desirable Experience

The following would be particularly beneficial:

  • Previous social housing experience
  • Housing association or local authority repairs experience
  • Residential property maintenance experience
  • Experience working in both occupied and void properties
  • Multi-trade maintenance experience
