Maintenance Plumber / Multi Trader
VNA Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Maintenance Plumber / Multi Trader to join a busy repairs and maintenance team within a large housing organisation operating across East London and Essex.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced tradesperson with a strong background in plumbing, reactive repairs and residential property maintenance who is looking for consistent full-time work.
You will be primarily responsible for carrying out plumbing repairs across occupied residential properties, alongside general multi-trade maintenance where required.
The role is based from Bow, with travel between properties across East London and Essex. A company van will be provided for work purposes.
There is also potential for the contract to be extended or for the position to become permanent.
The Role
As a Maintenance Plumber / Multi Trader, your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out reactive plumbing repairs across residential properties
- Diagnosing plumbing faults and identifying appropriate repairs
- Completing day-to-day repairs and maintenance efficiently
- Repairing and replacing plumbing fixtures and fittings
- Carrying out general multi-trade maintenance where required
- Attending occupied residential properties across East London and Essex
- Working to achieve a high standard of first-time fix
- Managing appointments and completing jobs within agreed timescales
- Identifying additional maintenance issues during property visits
- Working independently across multiple locations
- Liaising with the wider repairs and maintenance team
- Keeping residents informed about works being carried out
- Maintaining high standards of workmanship
- Ensuring properties and work areas are left clean and tidy
- Following all relevant Health & Safety procedures
- Providing a professional, respectful and customer-focused service to residents
About You
To be considered for this position, you should have:
- Proven experience working as a Plumber
- Strong experience carrying out reactive repairs and maintenance
- Good plumbing fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- Experience completing repairs within occupied properties
- Ability to carry out general multi-trade maintenance where required
- Strong practical problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and manage a mobile workload
- Good organisation and time-management skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent customer service skills
- Pride in delivering high-quality workmanship
- Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced repairs environment
- A positive and team-focused attitude
Desirable Experience
The following would be particularly beneficial:
- Previous social housing experience
- Local authority or housing association repairs experience
- Residential property maintenance experience
- Experience working as a Multi Trader / Multi Trade Operative
- Experience completing repairs within occupied and void properties
Driving Requirements
A full UK driving licence is essential for this position.
Applicants must also have:
- No more than 6 points on their driving licence
- At least 2 years' driving experience
- No serious motoring offences within the last 10 years
A driving licence check will be required before starting.
A company van is provided for the role.
