We are recruiting for a Nursery Operative / Labourer to join a well-established horticultural business near Maidstone. This is a hands-on role within a busy commercial nursery and would suit someone with previous experience working with bedding plants or herbaceous plants in a glasshouse environment.
The Role
- Potting, planting and spacing crops
- Watering and general plant maintenance
- Moving plants, trays and stock around the nursery
- Assisting with propagation activities
- Weeding and maintaining tidy growing areas
- Preparing orders for dispatch
- Supporting the production team during busy seasonal periods
- Maintaining high standards of plant quality and presentation
Requirements
- Previous experience working within a commercial bedding plant or herbaceous plant nursery is essential
- Experience working within a commercial glasshouse environment is essential
- Good practical horticultural knowledge
- Physically fit and comfortable with manual work
- Reliable, hardworking and able to work as part of a team
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Candidates may currently be working as a Nursery Operative, Nursery Assistant, Glasshouse Operative, Horticultural Labourer, Propagation Assistant or Nursery Production Operative.
