The Role

As a Utility-Based Aerial Arborist, you will be responsible for carrying out aerial tree works in proximity to utility infrastructure, including power lines and other critical assets. You’ll work as part of a dynamic team delivering vegetation clearance, tree pruning, and emergency response services to ensure safe and reliable utility operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform aerial tree work using climbing and rigging techniques in utility environments.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and industry standards (including G55 and HSE guidelines).
  • Conduct site risk assessments and contribute to safe systems of work.
  • Collaborate with ground crews and supervisors to deliver efficient and high‑quality service.
  • Operate chainsaws and other arborist equipment safely and effectively.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and report any incidents or hazards.
  • Support emergency call‑outs and storm response operations when required.

What We’re Looking For

  • Lantra/NPTC qualifications including CS30, CS31, CS38, CS39 (or equivalent).
  • Additional qualifications such as UA1, UA2.1, UA2.2, UA2.3 are highly advantageous.
  • Experience working in utility arboriculture or similar high‑risk environments.
  • Strong understanding of aerial rescue procedures and safe climbing practices.
  • A proactive attitude and commitment to safety and teamwork.
  • Full UK driving licence (B+E or C1 desirable).
