This is a full-time, on-site role for a Human Resources Manager based in Solihull. The Human Resources Manager will be responsible for overseeing HR processes, including talent acquisition, onboarding, employee relations, and performance management. The position also involves developing and implementing HR strategies and policies, ensuring compliance with employment laws, and fostering a positive workplace culture. Regular responsibilities may include managing employee benefits, resolving workplace conflicts, advising leadership on HR best practices, and supporting organizational development initiatives.
Key Responsibilities- HR Administration & Systems
- Maintain accurate employee records across HR system BrightHR
- Process employee lifecycle changes including starters, leavers, role changes, and contract updates
- Prepare employment contracts, amendments, and HR documentation in line with company standards
- Support continuous improvement of HR data accuracy and reporting
- Recruitment & Workforce Coordination
- Coordinate recruitment activities for all areas of the business
- Advertise vacancies and manage candidate applications
- Schedule interviews with hiring managers
- Conduct right-to-work checks and reference verification
- Support onboarding logistics for new employees
- Onboarding & Offboarding
- Deliver structured onboarding processes to ensure smooth integration of new hires
- Coordinate and deliver HR induction
- Manage exit processes, including equipment return and documentation
- Employee Relations Support
- Act as first point of contact for general HR queries
- Provide administrative support for absence, performance, and conduct processes
- Document employee relations cases in a consistent and compliant manner
- Payroll & Benefits Administration
- Prepare payroll for submission to payroll provider, including collating changes (overtime, starters, leavers, additional payments)
- Review and approve payroll data returned from payroll provider
- Respond to payroll-related queries from employees
- Assist with benefits administration, including pensions and company perks
- Administer and manage the company’s Perkbox incentive platform, including employee enrolment, communications, and ongoing engagement
- Track and manage holiday, sickness, and absence records via BrightHR
- Employee Engagement & Communications
- Create and distribute a monthly employee newsletter, sharing company updates, key announcements, recognition, and engagement content
- Support internal communications to promote company culture, initiatives, and HR updates
- Assist in driving employee engagement activities and initiatives
- Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure HR practices comply with UK employment legislation and internal policies
- Complete audits, compliance checks, and HR reporting requirements
- Maintain confidentiality and GDPR-compliant handling of employee data
- Operational & Business Support
- Support workforce coordination across operational teams where required
- Assist in HR-related projects (e.g. system improvements, policy updates, engagement initiatives)
- Coordinate training sessions, meetings, and internal HR communications
- Previous HR or strong administrative experience in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organisational and multitasking abilities (important in operational/fleet settings)
- Excellent communication skills across all levels of the business
- High attention to detail and data accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems
- CIPD qualification (or working towards it)
- Familiarity with HRIS and payroll systems
- Understanding of UK employment law
