We’re looking for a skilled Shopify Front-End Engineer for an immediate 3-month contract (with potential extension). You’ll build high-quality Shopify themes and components, integrate marketing tools, and optimize user experiences in collaboration with design and marketing teams.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Develop high-quality, production-ready Shopify front-end code (themes, components, and reusable modules).
  • Ensure seamless integration with marketing tools, APIs, and Shopify apps.
  • Collaborate with design and marketing teams to optimize user experience and drive conversions.
  • Participate in Agile development processes (stand-ups, sprint planning, code reviews).
  • Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical colleagues, including clients.
  • Own projects end-to-end, including maintenance and scaling.
  • Maintain code quality, accessibility, performance, and testing standards.
  • Stay current with evolving front-end technologies.
  • Support the recruitment process.

What we want from you:

  • Expert in semantic HTML5, CSS3 (SASS/LESS), and JavaScript (ES6+) with strong coding standards.
  • Extensive experience with Shopify platform, Liquid templating, and third-party apps.
  • Proficient in responsive design, cross-browser compatibility, and front-end performance optimization.
  • Solid understanding of Agile methodologies (story points, sprint planning, retrospectives).
  • Experienced in testing and debugging (unit, end-to-end, regression using Jest/Cypress).
  • Familiar with modern front-end build tools (e.g., Grunt, Webpack) and CI/CD workflows using Git.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, self-motivated work ethic.
  • Knowledge of SEO, accessibility, and security best practices.

If you know some of this, even better:

  • Commercial experience in building headless solutions e.g. SPA and/or PWA applications.
  • Experience in building rapid prototypes.
  • Experience with a Type Checking language either Flow or TypeScript (we use TypeScript).
  • Experience of working on Java/Node/C#/PHP projects would be beneficial.
  • Experience of mentoring junior members of the team.

What we can offer you:

Alongside the opportunity to work with some of the most exciting brands around the world, we’ll also prioritise your career development and help you grow your skills.
