Management Accountant – Department: Finance | Reports to: Financial Controller | Location: London, UK
Role Summary
This role, created after the promotion of the current Management Accountant, involves working closely with the Financial Controller to support the timely delivery of monthly actuals, quarterly forecasting, and annual budget submissions across Health UK, Health HQ, and KI‑DS business units. Key duties also include supporting core finance operations such as revenue recognition, postings, WIP management, accounts receivable, and accounts payable.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with the Financial Controller to ensure timely submission of month‑end actuals to VML Group via Cartesis and Workday, meeting all internal and external reporting requirements.
- Prepare month‑end packs for review by the Finance Director.
- Support the Financial Controller in the preparation of quarterly and annual budget submissions.
- Manage pre‑payments and cost accruals.
- Ensure accuracy of monthly postings, reallocations, and reconciliations.
- Maintain strict compliance with SOX regulations and internal control procedures.
- Oversee timely inter‑company billing and reconcile cross‑charge expenses efficiently.
- Liaise with Finance Plus during key reporting periods and throughout the month to resolve queries.
- Support internal and external audits by preparing required documentation and responding promptly to all audit queries.
- Manage freelance tracking, cost accruals, and reconciliations with freelance providers, ensuring IR35 compliance and related reviews are completed.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Proven experience within a finance team, ideally in a Management Accountant role.
- Experience with Workday and Cartesis desirable but not essential.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Highly motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering excellence.
- Capable of working independently on projects while also being a collaborative team player.
- Excellent organisational and time‑management skills.
- Sound understanding of key reconciliation principles.
- Comfortable and effective in a remote working environment.
