This position reports to Sales, Service and Project Execution Lead.

Your role and responsibilities:

  • Contribute to improving Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) performance in your assigned area of responsibility to cultivate a high-performance culture with a strong focus on QHSE including employee wellbeing.
  • Support the business by applying in-depth QHSE knowledge and offering strategic solutions and advice.
  • Ensure effective risk management through QHSE excellence along the ABB value chain.
  • Maintain business certification as required (ISO etc) and assure the effective implementation, maturity assessment along the entire value chain to improve customer satisfaction and increase profitability in a safe working environment across the local business.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture within the local Power Protection team.
  • Lead and support incident investigation on Health, Safety, and Environmental incidents in-line with ABB internal reporting procedure.
  • Facilitate lessons learned briefings and lead the initiatives to drive best practices within the Power Protection team.
  • Conduct contractor site inspections and supply chain assurance audits.
  • Participate actively in site inspection and audits, with regular engagement with the operations and field services team.
  • Develop Quality Strategies in line with ABB and external requirements and support the local adoption and deployment to improve the Quality standards and support operational improvement across the entire value chain.
  • Set coherent and aligned QHSE priorities and targets across the entire value chain, monitor progress, analyse QHSE KPIs and act on deviations from targets.
  • Facilitate local QHSE activities and campaigns, promoting stakeholder involvement through collaborative effort.
  • Drive behavioural change through implementing Group-wide performance improvement programs and practices locally to ensure an exemplary Quality, Health and Safety culture as well as a strong focus on environment and wellbeing throughout the respective organization.
  • Engage external (e.g. customers, suppliers and other stakeholders) and internal stakeholders in order to report on, raise awareness and gain commitment on ABB's QHSE efforts and performance and obtain objective feedback.
  • Collaborate with other business functions and business partners to drive performance.

Qualifications for the role:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
  • Internal auditing experience (ISO 45001, ISO 9001, ISO 14001).
  • Quality/Continuous Improvement experience within a complex, matrix organisation.
  • Strong Electrical safety bias and experience.
  • Previous experience of working in Power Protection, UPS, or battery industry is a strong advantage.
  • Experience working within a field service environment.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and influencing skills.
  • Experience conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and training.
  • Proven experience as a professional in QHSE who demonstrates leadership capabilities with a team-oriented attitude and collaboration mindset.
  • Full UK Clean driving licence.
