Service Operations Manager

Location & Work Model

Automation, Marine & Ports business in the UK. Work model: remote (– only for functional support).

Responsibilities

• Provide remote technical support to customers during standby time.
• Work with the customer on‑site to identify opportunities to improve operations and eliminate pain points.
• Perform field service tasks, identify technical issues, conduct analysis through remote or on‑site activity across service categories and products.
• Prepare material lists for service activity and ensure all materials, parts and equipment are available and of appropriate quality.
• Prepare work packs including risk assessments and method statements.
• Troubleshoot equipment/process failures, request proactive corrective actions and recommend measures to prevent recurrence.

Qualifications

• Highly skilled in electrical or mechanical engineering solutions, preferably in the marine and ports industry (not essential).
• Flexible with schedules, self‑sufficient in the field, and experienced in field services. ABB product experience desirable.
• Willing to work in demanding environments, both in the UK and internationally, onshore and offshore.
• Relevant tertiary qualification in electrical engineering and/or a demonstrated professional track record.
• Excellent communication skills with colleagues and customers.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel).
• Current UK driving licence.
