This position reports to Studies, Tendering and Tech Advisory Mng Your role and responsibilities In this role, you will provide technical support to front-line Sales and sales opportunities, including Major Pursuits. This position is part of the Technical Advisory Team within the Energy Industries business in the UK, reporting to the Studies Tendering and Technical Advisory Manager. The work model is hybrid, based at our St Neots, Daresbury, or Aberdeen locations {#LI-hybrid}. You will be mainly accountable for: Developing electrical solutions from customer RFQs/concepts using ABB and third-party products and systems. Collaborating closely with sales managers, bid managers, operations teams, and Local Divisions to deliver compliant and high-quality bids. Managing client relationships and presenting technical details effectively, tailoring communication to the audience and highlighting value propositions, including simplifying technical information for non-technical personnel. Managing multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, and engaging with the wider team to manage conflicting priorities. Providing direction to supply chain to optimize and improve discounts on materials from ABB and third-party suppliers. Supporting the growth of the electrical business through techno-commercial awareness. Qualifications for the role Knowledge of electrical equipment from generation to distribution (MV, LV, UPS, Power Transformers, SCADA, Electrical Control Systems, etc.) Experience in reading and creating electrical system models in ETAP or Powerfactory Ability to create layouts for substations, E-houses, and Modular LERs Ability to interpret HVAC, Fire and Gas detection, Fire Suppression, Cabling, and Civil requirements Awareness of electrical system integration with control and telecom systems Knowledge of HVAC systems and cable calculations is desirable but not mandatory Understanding of operations and maintenance aspects related to OPEX estimation is desirable.
