You will provide compassionate, person-centred emotional, spiritual and religious support, respecting each person's unique faith, beliefs, values and cultural traditions. Working as part of an interdisciplinary team, you will support residents through meaningful conversations, spiritual practices, religious rituals, cultural celebrations, grief, loss, palliative care and end-of-life experience. You are a compassionate and inclusive pastoral care professional who is committed to providing high-quality, person-centred support that recognises and respects the unique needs, beliefs and life experiences of every resident.
Experience & Skills you’ll bring:
- A qualification in Pastoral Care, Clinical Pastoral Education, Teaching, Social Sciences or a related field.
- Accredited as a Eucharistic Minister or willing to complete the required training.
- Experience providing person-centred care in aged care, healthcare or a similar setting.
- A warm, friendly and caring approach to working with older people.
- Strong listening skills and the ability to provide compassionate pastoral care and support.
- Experience supporting people and families through grief, loss, palliative care and end-of-life.
- Ability to plan and lead spiritual, religious and pastoral services and gatherings.
- Good communication, interpersonal, organisational and time-management skills.
- A commitment to ongoing learning and professional development.
- Alignment with the mission, values and ethos of a Catholic, for-purpose organisation.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
