About the role
We’re seeking a friendly, enthusiastic, and self-motivated team member with experience in food services to help brighten our residents’ day. As a Food Services Assistant, you’ll play a key role in delivering meals that meet nutritional and hydration needs, cater to special requirements, and respect individual preferences. Your focus will be:
- Perform basic food preparation tasks and cooking basic meals.
- Prepare, present and serve/deliver food and refreshments, ensuring awareness of special needs for modified diets.
- Plate and present food in an appealing manner and to a high-quality visual standard according to individual requirements.
What you will do:
- Perform basic food preparation tasks including preparation and cooking of basic meals.
- Prepare, present and serve/deliver food and refreshments while accommodating dietary needs.
- Maintain cleanliness of food preparation and serving areas, including equipment and utensils.
- Setting of dining room tables in accordance with table setting guidelines.
- Report equipment faults promptly through proper documentation and adhere to maintenance schedules.
- Maintain Menu Boards which provide relevant information to residents each day.
- Effectively manage time by prioritising tasks and adapting to residents' needs.
- Uphold residents' rights to confidentiality, privacy, and personal choice.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to the needs of residents, representatives and colleagues.
About you:
- Food Safety Certificate Level I (HLTFSE001) or progression towards the completion of a Food Safety Certificate.
- Previous experience working in a food services environment and/or at an aged care facility.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work within a team and to work with minimum supervision.
The successful incumbent will need to be flexible and available to work the below days and shifts: Week 1 & 2 Monday & Tuesday 12 to 6pm.
