Location: London – 2 days a week in office

Salary: up to c£85,000 – depending on experience
Overview
Looking for a skilled Senior Manager, External Communications to support the Head of External Communications in delivering impactful external engagement. This role focuses on political and media stakeholder management to enhance the company’s reputation across Westminster, Whitehall, and the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing and implementing an external communications strategy covering public affairs, media relations, and digital channels.
- Build and maintain relationships with government, parliament, and media stakeholders.
- Oversee submissions to government consultations and parliamentary committees in collaboration with policy teams.
- Prepare briefings, speeches, and opinion pieces for senior leaders.
- Manage media enquiries and deliver press releases, journalist briefings, and OpEds to position the organization as an industry leader.
- Support digital and social media activity, including website optimization.
- Deputize for the Head of External Communications when required and contribute to team capability development.
Skills & Experience
- Strong networking and influencing skills with experience in political and media engagement.
- Proven ability to navigate Westminster and Whitehall with knowledge of parliamentary processes.
- Experience in press office or communications roles, ideally within regulated sectors such as energy or water.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling narratives.
- Professional experience in fast-paced political or corporate environments at a senior level; agency experience desirable.
