We are working with an amazing performing arts charity in the heart of London who are hiring a Head of Internal Communications.

The Head of Internal Communications will be the strategic and tactical lead of all internal communications activity across the organisation, developing and delivering an internal communications strategy that supports the organisational objectives. Working alongside the Director of Communications, you will act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders across the organisation.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead, develop and drive the Internal Communications strategy, ensuring alignment to the wider communications strategy for the organisation.
  2. Develop a strategic integrated internal communications plan as part of the strategy, working closely with key colleagues from the wider communications team.
  3. Work with Co-Chief Executives to support their internal communications, draft messages or scripts for senior executives for presentation to employees in written or spoken form.
  4. Collaborate with the Director of Strategy and Head of Directors’ Office on the planning of the Executive’s role within regular engagement opportunities, including SLT Forums, Town Halls, Management Briefings, and Company Meetings.
  5. Deliver key internal face-to-face activity including leadership events and all staff Town Hall meetings.
  6. Establish and maintain content guidelines and governance structures for the NT Intranet to ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with the organisation’s brand and messaging.
  7. Provide excellent line management support, pastoral care and ensure that line reports have development and career progression opportunities.
  8. Lead the internal communications team and department budget.

Person Specification

  1. Extensive experience in internal communications, internal culture building and change management with demonstrable success.
  2. Previous experience in building and implementing an internal communications strategy. Prior experience of providing strategic advice to Executive and Senior Leaders and presenting to them on a regular basis.
  3. Demonstrable experience of implementing effective internal communications plans for a large complex organisation which deliver impact across multiple channels.
