Overview
Job Description Reporting to the Transport Manager, you will be responsible for maintaining VLTs HGVs and enhancing the performance of our modern vehicle fleet. As an integral part of our operation, you will also be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various vehicles and trailers to ensure they meet safety and performance standards.
Pay: Β£50,000.00-Β£57,000.00 per year
Responsibilities
- You will maintain our mixed fleet of rigid and articulated vehicles and trailers to the highest standard and in line with DVSA requirements
- Vehicle inspections
- Trailer inspections
- MOT preparation to DVSA standards
- Brake testing at every inspection
- Fault finding and repairs
- Use of diagnostic equipment
Essential
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
- Qualification in City and Guilds HGV Part 1, 2 & 3 or NVQ level 3 equivalent
- A minimum of 3 years experience as an HGV Mechanic (post qualification) preferably within a fleet environment
- Large Goods Vehicle experience is essential
- Must have the can do attitude
- Flexible approach to work
- Health & Safety awareness
- Excellent time-keeping skills
- HGV Licence Class 1 preferred
Desirable
- IRTEC Registered for both traction and trailers
- Live within a 20 to 30 mile radius of LS19
